Grayson Does It Again – SKILLS USA

Congratulations to our son, Grayson Cline, for winning 1st Place in Kentucky State Championship competition for carpentry for Skills USA!!!!!!!!  On April 4th the Kentucky State Competition for Skills USA was held in Louisville.  The carpentry competition was held at the Union Local Hall.  Students from regions all over the state competed for the championship title.  Steve and I attended the competition and watch anxiously as the students built a section of roof from blue prints complete with framing, sheeting, tar paper and shingles.  Grayson had a slow start after discovering his brand new saw supplied by his school did not have a blade and one had to be hunted down.  However, his consistency and accuracy overcame the glitch to take home first place and power tools as his prize.  Kudos also to Grayson’s teacher, Mr. Lawson, and the carpentry program at McCormick Technical School in Alexandria.  Not to mention the mentoring and tutoring from Steve over past couple of years.  Take a look below at Grayson in action at the competition.
